According to Wikipedia: A wiki (IPA: [ˈwɪ.kiː] <WICK-ee> or [ˈwiː.kiː] <WEE-kee>[1]) is a type of Web site that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change some available content, sometimes without the need for registration. This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for collaborative authoring. The term wiki also can refer to the collaborative software itself (wiki engine) that facilitates the operation of such a Web site, or to certain specific wiki sites, including the computer science site (an original wiki), WikiWikiWeb, and on-line encyclopedias such as Wikipedia.
Anything! Information can be hard to come by, but now we have a central place to distribute it. Feel free to post any news, events, class notes, schedules or schedule changes, exam questions and dates, photos or photo albums, videos, links to books and other resources.. whatever.
Anyone who happens upon it.
Anyone who has writer permission or above. Anyone who would like to become a writer must first be invited or approved by a moderator.
Any site specific questions like these are probably answered in wetpaint's help.
There are two options:
- You can upload a file to wetpaint as an attachment. However, the maximum file size that can be uploaded here is 500k (archive your files to keep them small). Also, there is a limit as to how many files can be uploaded here.
- The second option is to upload your file at a free online file host, and then post a link to it here. The advantage is that the files can be much larger, and there is no storage limit. Here's how:
- Please do everyone a favor and archive your files first (zip or rar)
- Go to a file sharing site (e.g., rapidshare or divshare) and upload your files
- When you receive the download link, just add it to the appropriate place here
Every page of the wiki can be viewed by anyone, however some info here is intended only for students. Please don't post the password here as that would negate the point of encrypting the files. Contact me if you're a student and need the password. Files are encrypted to protect patient privacy, copyrighted material, and anything we may not want our teachers to see.
- rar - archived (compressed) file, install winrar if you're having problems.
- rgo - RepliGo, format optimized for handheld devices (ppc, palm, phone), can also be viewed on desktop. Files are usually much smaller with little noticeable loss of quality. Download free readers here
- ppt - MS PowerPoint, download free viewer here
- pps - MS PowerPoint slide show, same viewer as ppt
- pdf - download free adobe reader here. Some other free readers here
PrimoPDF is free and works well. Some other PDF software is listed here.
