7. Diseases of the pancreas
8. Bleeding into the GI tract
9. ESWL - Extracorporeal shock wave lithotrypsy
10. Viral hepatitides
11. Chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and its complications
12. Differential diagnosis of hepatosplenomegaly
13. Tumors of the subhepatic region
14. Metabolic liver disorders
15. Differential diagnosis of abdominal pain and icterus
16. Intensive care in gastroenterology and hepatology


The instruction is organised in a three-week-block study of gastroenterology and hepatology.
Practical training in gastroenterology and hepatology is carried out at inpatient wards of the 4th Department and at the gastroenterological units of the Faculty Polyclinic.

The students examine the patients anamnestically and physically, take part in the rounds and discussions, are present at invasive and non-invasive gastroenterologic examinations.

Lectures are a component part of the practical block training.
All the members of the gastroenterologic and hepatologic group participate in giving lectures.
